About

I build across the whole stack, from the interface down to the service that owns the data. Lately that's meant a micro-frontend platform for Paciolan in ticketing and live events: React and TypeScript on a Next.js host, a shared design system, a GraphQL layer and a NestJS service across roughly ten repositories.

It replaces a legacy back-office for the venue and event operators who configure events, pricing, fees and delivery, on a platform powering more than 160 college athletic programs. Over three years I've delivered across most of that product surface on a ticket-based team of eight engineers, and because tickets cut across layers I've worked in nearly every repository in it.

How I work now: I direct AI agents through most of the implementation on my tickets, and my job is the system around them. I maintain a context index covering the architecture and the micro-frontends, plus reusable rules that encode decisions rather than formatting, and wire MCP tooling so an agent reads tickets and design specs from the source. The agent can verify freely, but writing goes through a gate. Then I read the diff and run it locally against a real backend, and when the behavior is wrong I send the fix back to the agent instead of patching the output by hand. Across my own sessions the automated gates have not caught a behavioral defect: typecheck, lint and unit tests came back green on the tickets where the agent's behavior was still wrong.

I've also worked both sides of a marketplace. I designed the creator revenue share on a product I co-founded, a pro-rata pool paid out to photographers and influencers by usage, and rebuilt payouts into a self-serve dashboard that reconciles revenue arriving from Apple, Google Play and Stripe on three separate settlement cycles.

I've been writing software since 2010: I was a partner at a software house, then led 7 to 10 engineers at an OCR and machine learning startup, then co-founded an app that hit #1 in Photography on the App Store.

Core stack: React, TypeScript, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Supabase, react-hook-form, Zod, Jest, Storybook, Docker. Cloud: GCP (Firebase, Firestore, Functions, BigQuery), AWS. AI-assisted engineering: Claude Code, MCP, context engineering, reusable rules.

Based in São Paulo (UTC-3), remote, with full overlap on a US business day.

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer on a micro-frontend application replacing Paciolan's legacy event-configuration back-office, on a ticketing platform powering 160+ college athletic programs. Roughly 10 repositories: a Next.js host, an orchestrator loading each tab as a remote at runtime, six tab micro-frontends, a shared design system, a GraphQL layer and a NestJS microservice. Ticket-based delivery on a team of eight.

  • Delivered across most of the product surface and, because tickets cut across layers, worked in nearly every repository. Traced a defect other tabs were patching locally to its root in the shared library and fixed it there, in a release that products already in production consume.
  • Built the validated forms and grids operators use daily: pricing tables, charge grids, add-on grids with cascading dependent dropdowns and bulk update flows, on a shared form model with react-hook-form and Zod and tab-level validators registered back to the host. Contributed the time and date pickers to the design system, built from UX specs and verified in Storybook.
  • Extended the GraphQL layer through to the NestJS backend: mapped form state into API payloads, redesigned the save contract for one product area, and surfaced backend validation errors on concurrent edits.
  • Ran scenario-based QA on other engineers' tickets, including backend: matrices with expected outcomes written up front, verified against the database and the running app, with a deterministic baseline reset. Two high-severity data-persistence defects surfaced that way, both previously left as open contract points in code review.
  • Built the context and rules set behind AI-assisted work here: an architecture index, per-area context files, and reusable rules encoding decision procedures rather than formatting. Tuned the permission surface so an agent verifies freely and anything that writes goes through a gate, and wired MCP so it reads tickets and design specs from source.

Software consultancy placing engineers with US clients. Through FullStack Labs I have delivered production software for TouchBistro (restaurant management, Identity and Permissions domain) and, most recently, Paciolan (live-events ticketing). I work full-stack with React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS and GraphQL, and I direct AI agents through most of the implementation on my tasks while staying accountable for what ships.

Co-founder and partner. Partner-level involvement only since Apr 2022, a few hours a month on banking, payments and accounting, with one deliberate exception: in 2025 I took the platform migration myself, end to end, on my own time.

  • Moved the platform off Firebase to Supabase (Postgres) and off Firebase Functions to NestJS on AWS: relational schema modeled by hand, idempotent and resumable backfill, dual-write through the transition, and a progressive strangler cutover with lazy user migration and zero downtime.
  • Retired BigQuery and roughly halved monthly infrastructure cost.
  • Designed the creator revenue share behind this two-sided marketplace: a fixed share of subscription revenue distributed pro rata across photographers and influencers by preset usage, recorded transactionally and deduplicated per preset, user and photo because the number decides payment.
  • Replaced a manual monthly payout process with a self-serve dashboard that reconciles revenue arriving from Apple, Google Play and Stripe on three separate settlement cycles, shows each creator a running balance, and lets them submit an invoice and request payment.

React, Next.js and TypeScript on the front end, Node.js and Express behind it.

  • Integrated Okta authentication and permission-based access controls across the development lifecycle.
  • Built the permission and role management forms with react-hook-form, and internationalized the interface into French.

Dale was senior to Yan but didn't manage Yan directly.

Yan is an excellent developer in both hard and soft skills. He is someone who is not afraid to take on the difficult tasks and figure out how to get something done even in unfamiliar environments. He came on as a contractor and learned everything quickly and dove right into whatever challenges were presented to him.

He is someone who takes initiative and will pick up tasks without having to be asked and will not only complete them, but complete them well. Yan does not rely on the AI to just do the coding, but checks over his work so by the time it comes for review it is already in an excellent state.

If it were up to me, I would hire Yan in a second, as he is able to jump into any unknown situation and handle himself like a mature and experienced developer.

I've had the good fortune of working with Yan for the past year and he's been an integral part of an amazing, fun, highly performing team at TB. Yan's experience and depth of knowledge was always evident in his work, he never hesitated when faced with new and challenging problems. Coupled with this, his positive attitude and willingness as a team-member to lend a hand or help others solve technical problems is first-class.

Working alongside Yan was a genuine pleasure. With his friendly attitude, dedication, diligence, and development skills, I'd highly recommend him as a fantastic addition to any team.

Yan has been an integral part of the team, and to the software engineering department at TouchBistro as a whole, during is tenure here. His work has consistently been of high quality and is able to make great technical suggestions when needed.

He has been able to write code and build features that take other business domains into consideration, and was comfortable interfacing with other teams and staff developers to build and push core product features into production.

Personally, Yan did not hesitate to render help when I asked him for it, and I found his technical experience immeasurably helpful.

I've worked with Yan for over a year at TouchBistro. Over the course of our time together in the same team, Yan has proven to be a great asset. He has demonstrated the ability to problem solve at a high level and can communicate his thoughts very clearly. Yan was also great at collaboration, willing to jump on calls together to discuss technical details and/or brainstorm together in order to reach a good solution.

I fully recommend Yan for any team that is looking for a software developer.

I've been working with Yan for a little over a year as his Dev Manager and he has been an amazing addition to our TouchBistro team during his tenure here. Even coming in as a full stack contractor, he was able to fit right into the team culture immediately. He also did a great job with ramping up and learning how to be an effective contributor to our backend and frontend code bases. I trusted him with small to medium size projects such as integrating Pendo into our cloud app as he showed great ability to work through technical hurdles and he would often take initiative to add improvements into our codebase such as enhancing our frontend components.

It's been a pleasure working with Yan and I think he would be an amazing fit on any dev team.
